Ocean in the Ocean
Gabriel “GG” Gimenez presented an exhibition during Miami Art Week 2015 at the Adidas South Beach store, which featured works from the Ocean in the Ocean series. This series is a "continuous body of work" and is inspired by the effects of climate change on the city of Miami. The artist uses the iconic character Fado to take viewers to an imaginary world that reflects the consequences of sea level rise and other impacts of climate change. The imagery of the series incorporate elements of Miami's architecture and historic photos, creating a connection to the artist's home town and bringing awareness to the issue of sea level rise and its potential impacts on the city. The exhibition was held for a limited time and was open to the public as a way to showcase the artist's work and bring attention to important environmental issues.
